Dombs to perform at CrossCurrents

January 12, 2017   ·   0 Comments

Daniel and Carey Domb will be the featured performers tomorrow (Friday) at CrossCurrents cafe in Bolton.
It promises to be an evening of folk and light classical duets.
When he was 15, Daniel was chosen by Leonard Bernstein to be a cello soloist with the New York Philharmonic in the Young Peoples Concerts, televised worldwide. Many solo appearances followed with some of the great orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony with Seiji Ozawa, the Boston Pops with Arthur Fiedler, The National Symphony, Saint Louis Symphony and Cleveland Orchestra.
Carey started her musical life with the cello, receiving both bachelor and master of music degrees from Rice University in Texas. Although she has dedicated herself to teaching, she has played with the Houston Pops Orchestra, Mantovani Orchestra, CJRT Orchestra, Toronto Philharmonic and as a substitute in the Toronto Symphony.
The combination of Daniel on cello and Carey on guitar has been so successful that the couple performs regularly for both public and private events in Canada and the north-eastern United States.
CrossCurrents cafe operates out of Bolton United Church at 8 Nancy St. (side entrance). Doors open at 7:30 p.m., and the entertainment is scheduled to start at 8.
Admission is free, although donations are welcome.
