After a long winter, we can now look forward to one of the first signs of spring here in Dufferin-Caledon — home shows.
We’re most fortunate to have two home shows taking place right here in our community. The first is the Orangeville Lions Club Home and Garden Show, which is then followed by the Caledon Home and Lifestyle Show.
The home shows always showcase the best of our community with outstanding exhibits, displays, and exciting activities for all ages. They also give us an opportunity to discover and learn more about the many, many outstanding local businesses and organizations we have in Dufferin-Caledon and the exceptional products and services they offer.
The first home show we can look forward to this spring is the annual Orangeville Lions Club Home and Garden Show. The show will run from April 4 to 6. It will be held at the Orangeville Agricultural Building and Fairgrounds, in the Town of Mono (off Highway 10, just north of Orangeville).
The Orangeville Lions Club Home and Garden Show continues to offer visitors an extensive range of exhibitors to help with any home or gardening project you may be tackling this spring, ranging from landscaping to roofing. This year, there are approximately 250 exhibitor booths available, which include 20 to 25 booths made available to not-for-profit organizations in our community. Since 2011, the food concessions have been located in the Banquet Hall to provide more comfort and greater variety to visitors. For more information, please visit the Club’s website at www.orangevillelions.org
Parking and admission to the show are free.
The second home show in Dufferin-Caledon to visit this spring is the Caledon Home and Lifestyle Show, hosted by the Caledon Chamber of Commerce. It will take place from May 2 to 4 at the Don Sheardown Memorial Arena (Albion-Bolton Community Centre) in Bolton. Admission and parking for the show are free.
This highly-anticipated annual event features approximately 85 exhibitors under one roof and attracts approximately 3,000 to 4,000 visitors from all over Caledon and surrounding areas. Each year, many exhibitors can be found offering a wide range of local products and services, including windows and doors; bath solutions; painting; real estate; and renovations.
The Caledon Home Show also includes many other exciting activities throughout the weekend, including a penny raffle, contests, prizes and product demonstrations. The stage that was added last year will be returning to the show this year. A concession booth will also be offered throughout the weekend.
For more information on this home show, please feel free to contact the Caledon Chamber of Commerce at 905-857-7393 or visit their website at www.caledonchamber.com
I look forward to participating in both home shows again this year. Please stop by my booth at each of the shows to learn more about the various federal government services my constituency offices can provide to you and your family, including: information on passports; citizenship and immigration; income securities; and much more.
The Orangeville Lions Club Home and Garden Show and the Caledon Home and Lifestyle Show are definitely events you don’t want to miss! I encourage you to mark these shows on your calendar and be sure to come out to see what’s available in your community. Both shows promise something for every age and interest, making them an excellent weekend outing with your family.tilson
