The final night of action for 2015 in the Sunday Night Junior Men’s Hockey League saw a couple of changes in the standings.
The Inside Out Family Chiropractic Predators blanked the Mr. Handyman Moose to replace them as league leaders.
Further down in the standings, the seventh-place George’s Arena Sports Penguins slammed the sixth-place the Pommies Cider Co. Wild. That meant the two sides swapped positions.
Predators 4, Moose 0
The Predators took full advantage of the Moose while their ace goaltender was away and a last-minute substitute was used.
Net nabbers for the Predators were Colin Fyffe from Tim Vokey and Mike Andreoli, Andreoli from Howard Cantelon and Larry Richardson, Fab Iafano from Fyffe, and Richardson from Fyffe. Scott Irvine stood tall and got the goose-egg for the Predators.
Warriors 6, Blades 4
In a seesaw battle, the We Are Creative Warriors came out on top and dulled the Ken’s Lawn Mower Repairs Blades.
Lighting the lamp for the Warriors were Gus Kourousis and Giancarlo Tarsitano with two each, and Brandon Jones and Jody Spagnol with singles. Assists came from Kourousis, Bogdan Rapan and Brent Spagnol. Blades bin bulgers were Daryll Simpson from Steve Smith, Jason Clark from Smith, Smith from Simpson, and Simpson from Smith and Clark.
Wings 6, Fire 2
St. Louis Bar & Grill Red Wings fanned their skills and extinguished the Ainsley Fire Protection Fire.
Mike Blackwood netted the hat-trick for the Wings with Mike DeFrancesco, Bob McHardy and Daniel Hamlett each netting singles. Assists were from the sticks of Shane DeLaronde, Scott McCrimmon, Hamlett, Blackwood and Brad Wigner.
Fire firers were Mark Andreoli from Sandro Mignosa, and Mignosa from Shane Ainsley.
Penguins 9, Wild 1
To round out 2015 the Penguins routed the Wild and showed no mercy.
Point getters for the Penguins were Alex Schittenhelm, Matt Dowdle, Sean Devereaux, Dale Mclean, Mike Tarasco, and Brandon Scott. The Wild’s lone marksman was Alex White from Jay Beech.
