The Central West Community Care Access Centre (CCAC), which provides home care and other essential health services in the community, has been honoured with a Gold Quality Healthcare Workplace Award for the second consecutive year.
Presented by the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, the award recognizes CCAC’s efforts to create a supportive culture for health care professionals to learn, work and thrive.
“Creating an environment in which staff is engaged, training and development is a priority, and innovation is encouraged has an incredible impact on our ability to provide high-quality patient care,” said CCAC Chief Executive Officer Cathy Hecimovich. “We are thrilled to receive a gold award again this year, and continue to seek ways to become even more effective and efficient as we support families throughout the Central West region.”
Health care organizations from across the province participate in the award program, which is meant to raise the bar of excellence for quality health care workplaces. The award was presented to the Central West CCAC Nov. 4 at the OHA’s HealthAchieve 2014 convention and exhibition in Toronto.
