Feb. 21 wasn’t shaping up as a great day for Caledon resident Deborah Armstrong, but it got better.
Her daughter had had a fall, so she took her to Brampton Civic Hospital to get checked out. While there, her daughter went to get them a couple of drinks at the Tim Hortons outlet.
As a result of the annual Roll Up the Rim to Win contest, Armstrong found she had a new car to look forward to, namely a 2014 Toyota Corolla Sport.
“She’s the one who bought the tea and coffee,” she observed. “I just happened to win.”
She said when she saw she had won, she just sat quietly and waited for her daughter to verify it.
“It’s a really neat feeling.” she said.
Armstrong wasn’t sure when she would be taking possession of the new wheels. She was told it could be six to eight weeks, but added it might be earlier.
