After training hard, 11 volunteer firefighters have officially become a part of the Town of Caledon Fire and Emergency Services team.
On May 17, a graduation ceremony for the firefighters was held at Caledon Fire’s Station 302 in Bolton.
Caledon’s Fire Chief, Dave Forfar, explained the new recruits had to complete a mandatory 250 hours of training, as well as achieve their level one and two National Fire Protection Association certifications.
“We’re extremely proud to welcome our new volunteer firefighters,” said Forfar. “These new recruits are not only joining our Caledon Fire team, they’re joining our family, and we look forward to working alongside them as we continue to keep Caledon residents safe.”
The new recruits, who are from all around Caledon, will begin work immediately. They’ve been assigned to eight different fire stations across Town.
Mayor Annette Groves said having well-trained and dedicated first responders is critical when providing emergency services to Caledon residents.
“I’m happy to welcome these new recruits to the… Caledon Fire and Emergency Services team,” said Groves.
