On Oct. 23, the Town of Caledon announced that it will be delivering three new fire trucks to Caledon Emergency Fire Services.
This is due to the continuous growth that Caledon is facing, as its population is growing and will continue to grow, with an estimated 300,000 residents by 2050, as announced by the Province of Ontario.
The addition of the fire trucks will be used to make sure that Caledon Emergency Fire Services has the equipment to help Caledon both in the future and present.
Each new fire truck will be assigned to a different station with Squad 301 at Station 301 in Alton, Tanker 307 at Station 307 in Valleywood and Squad 308 at Station 308 in Mono Mills.
This is just three out of the 10 fire stations throughout Caledon.

The new vehicles are also updated with larger fire pumps, improved braking and electrical systems, increased occupant seating, increased onboard water capacity, rollover protection with airbags and efficient diesel engines to be more eco-friendly.
Caledon Fire Chief Dave Pelayo says that investing in new fire trucks is important to increase safety.
“Investing in modern fire apparatus is an important part of ensuring our firefighters have the equipment they need to respond safely and effectively,” says Chief Pelayo. “These new trucks are important improvements to firefighter safety, operational capabilities and environmental performance, helping us continue to deliver reliable fire and emergency services to Caledon residents.”
Commissioner of Community Services Judith D’Souza Soares also spoke on the importance of having the essentials to support Caledon’s growth.
“Maintaining safe, reliable and effective emergency services is essential as Caledon continues to grow,” says D’Souza Soares. “These investments support our commitment to service excellence and ensure fire services continue to evolve alongside the needs of our community.”
