Caledon will soon have a new Director of Transportation.
In an April 4 news release, Town of Caledon communications staff announced Dan Terzievski had been hired as Caledon’s Director of Transportation.
According to the release, Terzievski has over 26 years of engineering and transportation experience supporting urban growth in rapidly-developing communities.
Before coming to the Town of Caledon, he worked as the Director of Infrastructure Planning and Development Engineering at the City of Richmond Hill. There, he was in charge of municipal service areas like transportation, water and municipal infrastructure.
The release notes Terzievski is a licensed professional engineer with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering and a Master’s Certificate in Municipal Leadership. He’s also a certified professional traffic operations engineer.
“His expertise in transportation planning, traffic safety and operations, municipal infrastructure and development will be instrumental in supporting the Town’s commitment to improving mobility and accessibility for all residents,” said the Town.
Domenica D’Amico, Caledon’s Commissioner of Engineering, Public Works and Transportation, said Town staff are looking forward to welcoming Terzievski on April 14, his first day with the Town.
“His leadership experience and deep understanding of transportation systems will be invaluable as we continue to grow the Town’s road network and infrastructure to meet the needs of our growing community,” said D’Amico.
Terzievski will be in charge of traffic engineering, road safety, transportation planning, and environmental assessments for Caledon’s roads.
“I am very excited to join the Town of Caledon and work alongside a talented team that’s committed to delivering safe, efficient and sustainable transportation solutions for their residents,” said Terzievski. “I look forward to collaborating with staff, stakeholders, Council and the community to help achieve Caledon’s vision for a connected and accessible transportation network.”
Terzievski is the most recent of three new senior leadership hires at the Town of Caledon since March 20.
On March 20, Caledon announced it had hired Solmaz Zia as its new Director of Engineering; on March 28 it announced it had hired Sandra DeMaria as its new Director of Development Planning.
