Kids had a chance to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus

There were some special visitors at Caledon’s Town Hall this week.
On December 5, Santa and Mrs. Claus visited Caledon East for the Town of Caledon’s annual tree lighting ceremony.
The ceremony was well attended, and among the many families were also Caledon Councillors, Town of Caledon staff, Caledon’s Town Crier, and even the Grinch (who by all accounts seemed to be in great spirits).
Santa and Mrs. Claus were delighted to be in Caledon, and read ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas to all the kids in attendance before taking time for pictures — and Christmas gift requests – from the children.
Everyone at the tree lighting ceremony counted down with the Town Crier before the large tree outside of Town Hall was lit for the first time this year.
Town Crier Andrew Welch delivered a holiday address to all in attendance. He reminded everyone of how important our relationships with each other and the land we live on are. He also said it’s important for people to support local businesses during the holidays.
The tree lighting ceremony featured snacks and hot drinks for all those in attendance.
