The Caledon Chamber of Commerce is excited to support local businesses this year.
On January 23, the Chamber held a meeting at the Humber River Centre in Bolton to let Chamber members know what it has in store for the year ahead.
Marion Upshall, president of the Caledon Chamber of Commerce, said the Chamber has been growing with many events in 2024 and even more planned for 2025.
“We want to really hone in and ensure we’re connecting all of Caledon and not just parts of Caledon,” said Upshall. “We want to ensure the business community knows that their Caledon Chamber of Commerce is up and running. We are all about advocacy, connection and education.”
Regional Councillor Mario Russo attended the January 23 meeting, and said he wanted to acknowledge the hard work of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, who are all volunteers who run their own businesses.
He said it’s been great to see the Chamber collaborate with the Town of Caledon’s economic development staff, and Caledon Councillors, to support local businesses.
“When you invest in our community, recognize that you have people working with you and on your behalf,” said Russo. “We want to see business flourish.”
Dufferin-Caledon MPP Sylvia Jones also attended the meeting and said she sees the great value that Chambers of Commerce bring to communities.
“Everything is about helping each other and driving that prosperity movement,” said Jones.
Upshall said the Chamber will continue its popular Lunch and Learn and networking events this year. It will also host its annual Business Summit in October, and for the first time, hosting “CaleDine”, an event to showcase local restaurants.
Other upcoming events include a mental health awareness forum, government keynote forum, and business essentials workshop.
To work on connecting businesses across Caledon, the Chamber plans to host ward-based information sessions, industry roundtables, and execute a strong marketing and social media plan rooted in collaboration.
The Chamber will also bring back its Business Awards in 2025.
