Local restaurants are coming together to support hospice care.

On August 26, Bethell Hospice announced it would be running its third-annual Bon Appetit for Bethell Hospice campaign this September.

Kelly Stronach, Bethell Hospice’s Senior Manager of Marketing and Communications, said restaurants and cafes across Caledon and Dufferin will offer “Bethell Specials” this September — a portion of the proceeds from the purchase of these specials will go to the Bethell Hospice Foundation.

“This is an engaging way to support local, help keep the doors of Bethell Hospice open, and ensure that all programs and services are available at no cost to residents, community clients and their families,” said Stronach in a statement.

Bethell Hospice must raise $1,700,000 each year to provide free hospice palliative care and community programs to the Caledon, Brampton and Dufferin County communities. Bon Appetit is one of many fundraising initiatives the local non-profit undertakes each year.

Some examples of restaurants participating in Bon Appetit for Bethell Hospice include Airport Pizza in Caledon East, Black Birch Restaurant in Mono, Caledon Hills Brewing Company in Palgrave, and Gather Cafe in Alton.

Shirley Horsley, Fundraising and Community Engagement Coordinator for the Bethell Hospice Foundation, said she’s so pleased with support from local restaurants for this year’s Bon Appetit initiative.

“There are twelve different dining establishments to visit in Alton, Bolton, Cheltenham, Erin, Inglewood, Mono, Palgrave, and Orangeville, so drop by your favourite coffee shop or try a new café and in turn you will be supporting Bethell Hospice,” said Horsley.
