Bolton native Jason Scorcia is looking to add another medal to his trophy cabinet this summer.

At the end of August, Scorcia brought home the silver medal following an excellent performance at the Special Olympics Ontario Hometown Games tournament at the Royal Ontario Golf Course.

Scorcia shot 131 on day one and 120 on day two. He lost by one stroke.

Now, Scorcia, is preparing for the Canadian All Abilities Championship presented by BDO, that will be held at the Essex Golf & Country Club in Windsor, ON

Taking place between September 12 and 14, it is a course, he said, he has never played at before.

“So, last winter, they had it at Humber College. I just found out about a week before. It’s a new venue, so I think every year it’s going to be all over Canada for this one,” Scorcia said.

“Monday is my practice round. Tuesday and Wednesday is my competition, so at least I can get a feel of the course.”

And he isn’t finished there. Scorcia said he has a few more tournaments. One on September 19 that is a rescheduled tournament from this summer and is only nine holes. The second one, on September 20, is a new Special Olympics Ontario competition called the Special Olympics Unified Open.

SOO athletes, volunteers and supporters will all be able to play together in what is known as a scramble format.

This will take place at the North Course at Station Creek Golf Club, in Gormley, ON.
