Big scores and some shutouts in recent SNJMHL action

There were a couple of upsets in the last two evenings of play in the Sunday Night Junior Men’s Hockey League, but not much has changed in the standings as a result.
Nov. 29
Penguins 6, Predators 6
In a tight match, neither team could better the other as the George’s Arena Sports Penguins and the Inside Out Family Chiropractic Predators battled to a draw. Net nabbing for the Penguins were Ron Toffin (three goals and an assist), Dave Matheson (three assists), Matt Dowdle (a goal and an assist), Eric Humphries (one assist), Jesse Thompson (a goal and an assist), Dale McLean (a goal and an assist) and Mike Brioux (one assist). Predators planters were Tim Vokey (three goals), Ryan Smith (one goal), Steve Hutchins (a goal and two assists), Ray Ilijasic (a goal and an assist) and Mike Andreoli (one assist).
Wild 3, Moose 2
In a nail biter, the Pommies Cider Co. Wild were able to press out a win over the Mr. Handyman Moose with a late third period goal.
It was just the second loss of the season for the Moose.
Wild whippers were Eric Webster from Shaun Heron and Craig Shaw, Jay Beech from Heron and Shaw, and Alex White from Richard Archer. Moose hammers were dropped by Cam Coulter from Justin de Abaitua and Eric Cirone, and Brad Sztorc from Brendan Pace and Steve Brown.
Warriors 6, Fire 0
The We Are Creative Warriors were able to extinguish the Ainsley Fire Protection Fire with Tony Melia earning the goose-egg for the Warriors.
Warriors’ offence came from the sticks of Bogdan Rapan from Kevin Norris, Mark Cinonetta from Lee Noseworthy, Rapan from Shane Gordon and Brandon Jones, Cinonetta (unassisted), Giancarlo Tarsitano from Brent Spagnol and Gordon, and Tarsitano from Jones and Norris.
Blades 6, Wings 5
In another close one, the Ken’s Lawn Mower Repair Blades were able to clip the St. Louis Bar and Grill Red Wings and get the win.
Point getters for the Blades were Darren Levy (two goals), Steve Smith (a goal and two assist), Daryll Simpson (a goal and two assists), Shawn Simpson (an assist), Jason Clark (a goal and an assist), Clark Chung (one goal) and Darren Jones (an assist). Wild wailers were Bob McHardy (a goal), Victor Ranieri (a goal and an assist), Scott McCrimmon (two assists), Mike Blackwood (two goals), Brian DeCarli (one assist) and Sean Doner (a goal).
