Belfountain Heritage Society event — Music festival coming to Melville White Church next week

Tickets are now on sale for the Belfountain Music Festival, which is slated to run next week.
This is the first time this even is being held, with all the concerts taking place at Melville White Church on Mississauga Road, south of Belfountain. The Festival is being run by the Belfountain Heritage Society.
A total of eight concerts are planned for the week. The schedule opens Sunday (July 6) at 3 p.m. as Zachary Ebin on the violin and pianist Maria Dolnycky perform rare works by Ukranian composers Bortkiewicz, Barvinsky, Kosenko and Roslavets.
That will be followed Monday at 8 p.m. as violinist Amanda Lee and pianist Melisande Sinsoulier perform Mozart’s Sonata in E-minor K304, Stavinsky’s Suite Italienne and Franck’s Sonata in A-major Op. 13.
Tuesday’s concert will start at 8 p.m. and feature violinists Caxton Jones and Ebin as they perform Prokofiev’s Sonata for Solo Violin Op. 115, Bach’s Parttita in D-minor BWV 1004, Hindemith’s Sonata for Solo Violin Op. 31 No. 1 and Jones’s Vignettes from Henryk Sienkiewicz’s Ogniem i Mieczem.
There will be a student concert Thursday (July 10) at 4 p.m. The evening will feature violinist Alex McLeod and pianist Jeannine Maloney starting at 8 p.m. They will play Shoswtakovich’s Sonata Op. 147, Bach’s Cello Suite No. 1 in G-Major and Brahms’s Sonata in F-minor.
Friday’s concert will start at 8 p.m. and will feature Julie Ranti on flute and Dolnycky on piano. The program will include Bach’s Sonata No. 6 in E-major, Casella’s Sicilienne and Burlesque, Devienne’s Sonata for Flute and Viola (with guest violist Mark Norris), Poulenc’s Sonata, Debussy’s Syrrinx, Kreisler’s Preludium and Allegro (with Norris) and Prokofiev’s Sonata in D-major Op. 94.
The Saturday offering will feature violinists Jennifer Martyn and Julia McFarlane, starting at 8 p.m. Their program will include Spohr’s Grand Duo No. 2 Op 67, Leclair’s Sonata No. 5, Telemann’s Canonic’s Duo in G-major, Mozart’s Der Spiegel, Prokofiev’s Sonata for Two Violins and a Fiddling Finale.
The Festival will wrap up next Sunday (July 13) with a 3 p.m. concert featuring the Arco Violini Ensemble under Music Director Ebin and Dolnycky on piano.
