Thanks to the hot hand of James Heenan, Baffo’s Pizza continued their winning ways, knocking off first-place Rutherford Global Logistics by a 4-3 margin last Monday.
Heenan had a goal and three assists to lead Baffo’s and move to one point behind Rutherford in the Caledon Senior Hockey League standing.
In the other games, Fines Ford Lincoln edged Jiffy Lube Oilers 6-5 and Bolton Chiropractic Centre upset George’s Arena Sports 6-2.
Baffo’s 4, Rutherford 3
Mark Perrin, Tony Dinis and Gary Faultless, who also had an assist, scored the other goals for Baffo’s. Dave Boyd notched two assists for the winners with singles going to Bill Frolick, Brian Samuel and Rick Agar.
Bill Moyer had a goal and an assist for Rutherford with Dan Labine and Paul Speck adding the other goals. Frank McKay, Jim Horan, Jim Dunbar and Garth Young each had an assist.
Fines Ford 6, Jiffy Lube 5
Fines Ford came back from a 4-1 Jiffy Lube lead, with Nick Rotundo leading the way with three goals.
Bernie Tisdale also was on fire with four assists, while Bruno Fracassi set up three goals. Jeff Boyles and Bill Jenner had a goal and an assist each with Bob Smith scoring the other goal. Jim Moyer had one assist.
Super-sub Mike Foley matched Rotundo with three goals himself for Jiffy Lube. Ron Sampson added a goal and an assist while Joe Palumbo scored the other goal. Dominic Ierullo had two assists with singles going to David Shoalts, Danny Avram, Jim Rogers, Brian Fetterly, Maurizo Giorgio and Joe Guaragna.
BCC 6, George’s 2
Nick Taccogna of the Chiropractors joined the hat-trick parade with three goals for the winners. Greg Frangakis and Mike Shore both had a goal and an assist while Dan Tasson also scored. Randy Freitag and John Pitsadiotis were sharpies with three assists each, while Mike Gasparini had two and Gary Stewart one.
Brett Smith and Greg Collins each had a goal and an assist for George’s with Dave Livingston grabbing a single assist.
