Audition for a part in Shelburne’s next community theatre production

January 29, 2014   ·   0 Comments

The Tipling Stage Company in Shelburne is holding open auditions for the five characters who will make up the cast of Norm Foster’s Jenny’s House of Joy.
The characters include Jenny, owner of the house of joy; jaded Frances, who’s really a little over the hill for this particular line of work; Anita and Natalie, two younger women with ambitions; and Clara, an irate client’s wife. They will also be casting two understudies, who will work as crew, standing in and prompting at rehearsals and learning enough about the production to actually be able to take over a part if needed.
People who are not yet ready to commit to a role but would like to gain some stage experience are invited to audition.
Auditions are slated for Feb. 9 at 2 p.m. at Grace Tipling Hall, Shelburne with callbacks, if necessary, Feb. 13. No preparation is necessary, but people will be asked to read from the script.
The play will be directed by Jean Jardine Miller and will run April 25, 26, 27, May 2 and 3. Rehearsals will be Sundays from 1 to 5 p.m. and Thursdays from 7 to 9 p.m., beginning Feb. 16 at Grace Tipling Hall.
