A 36-year-old man from Brampton is facing drinking and driving charges after an accident on the off ramp from Highway 410 at Mayfield Road Sept. 30.
Caledon OPP reports a blue 2001 Ford Explorer was apparently rear-ended by a white 2016 Nissan Murano.
While investigating the incident, an officer detected the smell of alcohol on the breath of the driver of the Nissan and demanded a sample of the man’s breath. The test registered a Fail.
The man was charged with impaired driving and driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in his system.
Police report they remain committed to enforcing impaired driving laws and educating road users about the dangers posed by motorists who drive while impaired by alcohol or drugs. Drivers need to remember that any amount of alcohol or drugs can impair one’s ability to drive.
