A Christmas Carol being performed in area The Humber River Shakespeare Company is currently touring the area with their annual performances of the Charles Dickens classic A Christmas Carol. They put on a performance Saturday evening at Melville White Church near Belfountain. Scrooge (Christopher Kelk) was not too enthused to receive Christmas greetings from his nephew Fred (Mark Huisman) while Bob Cratchit (Kevin Hammond) worked away. The evening also included a performance by Xenon 54, consisting of Ewen Hutton of Burlington, Jonah Thiessen of Etobicoke, David Hiraki of Caledon and Isaac Thiessen of Etobicoke. A Christmas Carol will be performed tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow night at Montgomery’s Inn in Toronto at 7 p.m.; Saturday at 1 p.m. at Aurora Cultural Centre, 22 Church St., Aurora); Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at McMichael Canadian Art Collection, 10365 Islington Ave., Vaughan); Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at Black Creek Pioneer Village; next Thursday (Dec. 18) at 7 p.m. at Christ Church Parish Hall, 292 Kettleby Rd., Kettleby; and Dec. 21 at 2 and 7 p.m. at Montgomery’s Inn.
