In celebration of Economic Development Week, the Town of Caledon is hosting an Open House on May 15 at the Humber River Centre.

They are inviting local businesses and entrepreneurs to explore new opportunities and connect with industry leaders.

The Open House will also feature the Town’s new Business Incubator Program, launched in partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University’s DMZ.

In a statement to the Citizen, Eric Lucic, Commissioner of Planning and Development for the Town of Caledon, shared more on what will be available.

“Attendees can explore a full range of business support services, including access to free co-working spaces, expert advisory services, meet our resident Entrepreneur coach Darren, and learn more about Humber River Centre Incubator Program Powered by DMZ,” said Lucic.

“The Business Incubator Program, powered by Toronto Metropolitan University’s DMZ, is designed to accelerate the growth of early-stage companies through mentorship, networking, and hands-on business training. Startups will gain access to a global network, workshops, and one-on-one support. This is a game-changing opportunity for any entrepreneur looking to scale their business in a supportive, innovation-focused environment.”

Lucic says the open house is an opportunity to build relationships and demonstrate how Caledon is actively investing in its entrepreneurial community.

There will be various people on site for residents to connect with.

Resources include a variety of business service providers, startup advisors from the DMZ network, and industry partners who support the small business ecosystem.

The Town’s Economic Development Team will be on site as well.

“The Economic Development team will be on-site to offer guidance, introduce attendees to relevant programs and funding streams, and help identify next steps for business growth. Whether you’re looking to expand, hire, or access grants, our team can help you explore the options available,” said Lucic.

Space is limited to 50 people for the event to ensure a quality experience, so those wishing to attend are encouraged to register in advance.
