Teams getting primed for semis

There’s one more week of round-robin action remaining in the Sunday Night Junior Mens’ Hockey League, and there are still a couple of teams with mathematical chances of getting into the semifinals.
The Mr. Handyman Moose and the Inside Out Family Chiropractic Predators are assured berths after last Sunday’s action.
Predators 6, Warriors 2
The Predators took charge and four points over the We Are Creative Warriors (in round-robin, one point is awarded for winning a period, two points for winning the game and if a period is tied, each team gets half a point).
Predator power players were Tim Vokey (unassisted), Fab Iafano (unassisted), Vokey from Colin Fyffe, Vokey (unassisted), Mark Metcalfe from Vokey and Howard Cantelon, and Steve Hutchins (unassisted). Warriors weapons were Brandon Jones from Jody Spagnol, and Kevin Norris (unassisted).
Blades 6, Fire 3
Ken’s Lawn Mower Repairs Blades doused the Ainsley Fire Protection Fire and took 4.5 points this night.
Blades sharp shooters were David Payne (unassisted), Kevin Wigner from goalie Ed Lewis, Darren Levy from Daryll Simpson, Wigner from Darren Jones, Levy from Payne and Payne (unassisted).
Fire’s firers were Steve Whitten from Sandro Mignosa, Mignosa from James Kennedy, and Mignosa from Mike Horsley and Matt Geiser.
Wild 6, Penguins 2
Pommies Cider Co. Wild looked like the team they could be, handling the George’s Arena Sports Penguins and taking 4.5 points.
Wild bin bulgers were Jay Beech with three, and Shaun Heron, Alex White and Dan Shaw with singles, while Shaw, Matt Temple, Beech, Mike Hamilton, Mike Swan & Eric Webster added helpers. Penguin plowers were Brandon Scott from Alex Schittenhelm, and Mike Tarasco from Scott.
Moose 4, Wings 0
Brett Weight turned away all shots for the Moose, giving them 4.5 points over the St. Louis Bar and Grill Red Wings.
Moose machines were Brendan Pace from Cam Coulter, Coulter from Steve Brown, Brad Sztorc from Graham Bryson, and Marc de Abaitua from Sztorc and Justin de Abaitua.
