There was plenty of activity around Alloa Public School one recent Friday night.
Friends and the community gathered for an event to help raise funds to send Mayfield Secondary School student Rose Ramsarran to the World Taekwondo Championships in Mexico.
As Rose gets ready for the big event, she said things are falling into place for her.
“They’re going really well,” she commented, adding she placed in the top six in a competition earlier this month.
“It was really a good experience,” she sid. “It was definitely a learning curve for me.”
The 15-year-old Grade 11 student said the event in Mexico will be taking place in late October and early November.
“I’m super excited,” she said, adding her recent success has been a boost to her confidence. “I’m a lot more comfortable than I was before.”

Rose Ramsarran shows the form she hopes will serve her well in Mexico.
