Releases new CD — Glenn McFarlane performing at Bolton United Nov. 15

November 7, 2014   ·   0 Comments

Brampton Folk Club President and long-time member of the Celtic and East Coast duo Brown Ale, Glenn McFarlane, is releasing his second solo CD.
As the title implies, Music and Friends is a collection of original songs celebrating two things that are very important to him. The songs are fun and lively folk songs that reflect his east coast roots, along with strong elements of country, folk-rock and world music, with an underlying theme of camaraderie throughout the album.
McFarlane is celebrating his CD release with a series of concerts in Southern Ontario, including a Nov. 15 show at Bolton United Church. This will be a fundraising concert to raise money for the church’s new roof. It will start at 7:30 p.m.
He will be performing all shows with his brother Keith on percussion and backing vocals. In keeping with the spirit of the album, the concerts will feature special guests, and both will be used to raise funds for worthwhile causes. For the Bolton concert, McFarlane has invited the guitar finger picking duo Ablett and Cooper, along with bandmate Les Smith from the Celtic and east coast duo Brown Ale, so there’ll be a wide variety of fun toe-tapping music.
Tickets for the concert are available at the door, or can be reserved by contacting McFarlane through his new and improved website at www.glennmcfarlane.ca
Tickets are also available through the church office.
