The volunteer recruitment drive for the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games is gaining traction in Caledon.
The Town reports 1,223 applications have now been submitted through the online volunteer portal at TORONTO2015.org/volunteer
Presented by Chevrolet, the volunteer recruitment drive for Caledon/Innisfil/Mono is searching for 1,700 amazing, passionate and skilled people, age 16 and up, to make the Games truly great.
“I want to thank everyone who put their hand up to take part in the Games. We’ve had incredible interest from all corners of Ontario and even across Canada,” said Saäd Rafi, chief executive officer of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Organizing Committee (TO2015). “Interviews started in back in June, so we recommend everyone apply as soon as possible to avoid missing out on this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to represent Ontario and Canada when the world comes to Toronto in 2015.”
Those with language skills in French, Spanish and Portuguese are especially encouraged to apply. The online volunteer application takes about 20 minutes to fill out and captures skills and experience, preferences and availability. Selected candidates will then be asked to undergo interviews. Those with a passion for equestrian sport are encouraged to apply to volunteer in Caledon.
