Caledon residents and local Tim Hortons restaurants came together to raise money for a good cause this holiday season.

By purchasing Holiday Smile Cookies at one of four Caledon Tim Hortons locations (the two in Bolton, one in Caledon Village, and one at Airport and Mayfield Roads), residents contributed to Cassie’s Place, a home away from home for individuals with differing abilities.

The local non-profit provides programs like swimming, dance, yoga and music for its participants, all free of charge.

Cassie’s Place volunteer Joe Sassine said he was very happy with the success of this year’s campaign and that Cassie’s Place is becoming more and more well-known in the community.

“We all put our best foot forward and we got a great response from residents,” said Sassine.

This latest campaign was the second to benefit Cassie’s Place, and Sassine said the non-profit is looking forward to the next campaign already.

Sassine said the local Tim Hortons restaurant owners are impressed with what Cassie’s Place does for the community and how it covers its expenses responsibly.
