With spring just around the corner, Emilia Perri’s vivacious, textured, abstract paintings are just what art enthusiasts need.
Join Headwaters Arts Gallery in the Alton Mill Arts Centre from March 23 to April 24 as they excitedly present Perri’s solo show, Colour & Process.
There will be an opening reception March 26, from 1 to 4 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
With their rich colours and organic textures, Perri’s paintings are inspired by ground energies, cracks in the earth, rivers and mountainous terrains. Her show features her contemporary paintings on canvas that are created by building up several layers of paint, mediums and glazes.
“In all my paintings you will find an exploration and discovery of what life has been, is now, and continues to be,” she said. “My work is the embodiment of all my energy.”
Using a variety of tools and techniques to apply and remove mediums, Perri’s work achieves great depth. This encourages the viewer to spend more time with the piece, discovering aspects of the artist’s creative process and passion for the work.
