Secondary students are invited to participate in a learning experience that combines the sites of Italy with courses that count toward high school credit.
Ciao Italia, a program organized by the Global Learning Institute (the facet of Adult and Continuing Education at the Dufferin-Peel Catholic District School Board responsible for International Studies) in partnership with Calabria International Tours, takes students through Italian cities, including Rome, Pompeii, Florence, Amalfi Coast, Calabria, Tropea, Chianciano Terme and Vatican City, exposing them to some of the best that Italy has to offer.
The program runs during the summer. The cost is $5,450 and includes return airfare; tour transportation; accommodation and classroom facilities; breakfast and dinner, daily and lunch when not traveling on excursions; instruction by a Dufferin-Peel Ontario qualified teacher; excursions; and all study tours as part of the instructional program for the course.
An information meeting will be held Nov. 3 at 7 p.m. at St. Aloysius Gonzaga Secondary School, 2800 Erin Centre Blvd. in Mississauga.
The application and deposit deadline for Ciao Italia is Jan. 30.
