Mayfield Secondary School James Cromack This Grade 10 student has been making his mark in cross-country running. He placed third at ROPSSAA, running six kilometres in 21:17, qualifying him for OFSSAA this weekend. He’s also planning to go out for track and field in the spring, specializing in the 800, 1,500, and 3,000 metres. Away from school, he’s active in 310 Running. The 15-year-old lives in Caledon village with his parents Mike and Michelle Cromack.

Hall Catholic Secondary School Joshua VanAmelsvoort This 16-year-old has been contributing his skills as a defensive back to the varsity football team, which has compiled a 4-2 record as of the end of last week. The last win was a 10-6 decision in which he ran an interception back for a touchdown. He’s also played outfield for the school’s baseball team. In the community, he plays football in the Orangeville Outlaws organization and drag races in Grand Bend. The Grade 11 student lives in the Inglewood area with his parents Tarha and Dan VanAmelsvoort.

St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Maya Allen This Grade 12 student has been a powerful presence on the varsity basketball team as a point guard, which has compiled a 3-2 record. “I had one of my highest scoring games the other day,” she said about a 13-point performance. Away from school, she plays rep basketball in the Caledon Cougars organization. The 17-year-old lives in Bolton with her parents Andre and Susan Allen.

Away from school, she plays rep basketball in the Caledon Cougars organization. The 17-year-old lives in Bolton with her parents Andre and Susan Allen.

Humberview Secondary School Jamie McCormack This 17-year-old has been tearing up the golf links for her school recently. She tied for sixth in ROPSSAA, qualifying her for the OFSSAA tournament Oct 13 and 14 in Windsor, where she shot a 97. Away from school, she plays at Weston Golf and Country Club in Toronto. The Grade 12 student lives in Bolton with her parents Janet and Ron McCormack.
