Mayfield Secondary School Sean Fasoyiro This 17-year-old was a shooting guard on the senior boys’ basketball team. “We had a good season,” he said, adding they made it to the quarter-finals. In the fall, he played corner back on the senior football team. In the community, he plays basketball with Hoops Canada Elite out of Toronto and Brampton. The Grade 12 student lives in Strawberry Fields.

In the fall, he played corner back on the senior football team. In the community, he plays basketball with Hoops Canada Elite out of Toronto and Brampton. The Grade 12 student lives in Strawberry Fields.

Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Matteo Marini The Grade 11 student plays central mid field on the indoor soccer team, of which he’s also captain. They’ve had one tournament so far. “We showed well against good competition,” he said. In the community, he plays on the U17 boys’ team in the Caledon Soccer Club, and will be representing Canada in the Dr. Pepper Dallas Cup in Dallas this month. The 17-year-old lives in Orangeville.

St. Michael Catholic Secondary School David Mastropaolo This 16-year-old played defence on the varsity hockey team, which lost in the ROPSSAA finals, but still compiled a 26-2 record over the whole season. He also plays intermural basketball at school. Away from school, he plays AAA hockey with the Toronto Red Wings. The Grade 11 student lives in Bolton.

Humberview Secondary School Kendal Freshwater This Grade 11 student is a member of the school’s archery club. “I always thought it would be fun to try,” he said. This busy athlete was active in cross-country running in the fall and ping pong in the winter, and he’s looking forward to playing baseball in the spring, as a catcher. In the community, he plays house league ball in the Bolton Braves organization. The 16-year-old lives in Bolton.
