The following letter, addressed to the Town of Caledon, was submitted to the Citizen for publication.
Regarding the proposed bylaw on medicinal marijuana production facilities; to begin, as a card carrying Conservative, I am ashamed, but not surprised we have come to the present day belief that “if you can’t beat them, join them.”
Cannabis — the new unholy drug grail.
No matter what is decided, please know that my thoughts and prayers will be there with you as the leaders of Caledon. I do pray as you decide what the way forward will be, that you give sober consideration to the far-reaching future ramifications of becoming involved with the effects of cannabis to the human mind and body.
Living with multiple sclerosis for 30 years, with its constant pain, if relief was offered through the use of cannabis drug smoke in my lungs, my answer would be “No thanks.” I don’t believe I am alone.
How many production facilities do you think will be required to supply all of Canada anyway? Do we have to jump on this bandwagon?
Linda Groundsell,
Bolton
