Caledon residents helped make the holidays better for children in need.
BrightStart Caledon Family Centre held a toy donation initiative in December and it was a great success thanks to the generosity of community members, local businesses, and the Caledon OPP.
Residents donated toys during individual toy drives organized by the Downtown Bolton BIA, CIBC (Downtown Bolton branch), Canadian Black Belt Academy, Garden Foods Market, and the Bolton Amazon Fulfillment Centre.
The Caledon OPP then collected all the toys and delivered them to BrightStart Caledon Family Centre’s main location in Bolton, where they were sorted and delivered to families in need.
Tracey Stewart, program manager for BrightStart Caledon, said thanks to the donations many families got to experience the joy of the holidays in what might otherwise have been a difficult time.
“This incredible show of support is a true reflection of the kindness and generosity that makes our community so special,” said Stewart.
In a news release, BrightStart Caledon and the Caledon OPP shared their deepest gratitude to all who helped make the toy drive a success.
“Together, these efforts demonstrate the power of collaboration and compassion in bringing holiday cheer to families in our community,” said BrightStart.
