Baffo’s Athletes of the Week — Oct. 24, 2013

Mayfield Secondary School Joshua Sterling This 17-year-old has been showing his stuff on the golf course. The school team recently competed at OFSAA in Windsor, where he shot 81 and 85. That was after the team had finished first at ROPSSAA, where he was fifth, shooting 80. Away from school, he golfs at The Weston Golf and Country Club in Toronto, and also races motocross. The Grade 12 student lives in Orangeville with his parents Brian and Darlene Sterling.

This 17-year-old has been showing his stuff on the golf course. The school team recently competed at OFSAA in Windsor, where he shot 81 and 85. That was after the team had finished first at ROPSSAA, where he was fifth, shooting 80. Away from school, he golfs at The Weston Golf and Country Club in Toronto, and also races motocross. The Grade 12 student lives in Orangeville with his parents Brian and Darlene Sterling.

Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School Isaac Maxwell This Grade 10 student helped the golf team finish second at ROPSSAA, where he shot a 93. He’s also on the junior boys’ volleyball team, which will be playing Mayfield his week to determine who gets in the playoffs. Outside of school, he’s a defenceman in the Orangeville Flyers organization, and he plays golf in Shelburne. The 14-year-old lives in the Orangeville area with his parents Tony Maxwell and Alex Ker.

St. Michael Catholic Secondary School Brianne Lee This 17-year-old has been busy with golf, recently competing at OFSSAA after success at ROPSSAA. She also plays centre-mid on the field hockey team, which she said should get at least to the semifinals this year. She will also be playing tennis at ROPSSAA later this month. She’s also on the curling team and skis in the winter. The Grade 12 student lives in Bolton with her parents Pat and Candace Lee.

She also contributes to the senior girls’ volleyball team, usually playing power. Away from school, she figure skates in Nobleton and plays rep volleyball at Acts Elite in Orangeville. The 16-year-old lives in Bolton with her parents Shannon and Kevin Hunt.
