Mayfield Secondary School
Ryan Singer
This 15-year-old is the middle linebacker for the school’s junior football team, which won its first game last week with a 28-20 overtime win over David Suzuki Secondary School. In the past, he’s been active in nordic skiing and rugby at school. Away from school, he’s a defenceman in the Caledon Hawks organization and plays house league lacrosse for the Caledon Bandits. The Grade 11 student lives in Caledon village with his parents Melanie and Kevin Singer.

Robert F. Hall Catholic Secondary School

This Grade 12 student is a running back for the flag football team, which won its first match against Humberview 20-13. At school, she has also taken part in girls’ hockey, track and the Team Unbreakable Running Group. She was also a member of Team Canada which took silver in the FIRS World Inline Championship in France recently. The 17-year-old lives in Palgrave with her parents Lidia and Joe Power.

St. Michael Catholic Secondary School

This 16-year-old plays goal for the varsity field hockey team. They made it to the semifinals of their first tournament of the season. She also golfs for her school and as a member of the Canadian Junior Golf Association. She also plans to swim, curl, snowboard and play soccer at school this year. The Grade 11 student lives in Bolton with her parents Oscar and Sandra Chiarotto.

Humberview Secondary School

This Grade 11 student is quarterback for the varsity flag football team. They lost their opening match against Robert F. Hall, but things weren’t all bad. “I got my first touchdown pass,” she said. She played volley ball and softball at school last year and she hopes to do it this year too. In the community, she plays second base in softball for the Brampton Slam. The 16-year-old lives in Bolton with her parents Wendy Jenkins and William Chan.
