It was a busy weekend on Bolton’s south hill as the 156th edition of the Bolton Fall Fair went ahead as planned. Emily D’Emilio, 9, found it was hard to keep her balance on the mechanical bull, but she had a lot of fun trying, and fun was the main feature at the Fair.

Farm animals were a big part of the fair, including those shown by members of the Bolton 4-H Dairy Calf Club. Kyle Carberry won the ribbon for showmanship with Kingsway Shadow Laveen, while Katie Early had the champion calf in Aland Request Nan.
Toronto Maple Leaf forward Peter Holland drew the winning ticket in the draw for the 2014 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid supplied by Fines Ford Lincoln in Bolton in the fundraiser for Bethell Hospice, accompanied by Bob Fines. The winner was Tracey Wallace of Erin.
Some folks took the opportunity to carve pumpkins at the fair, like Aidan Gregory, 9, of Palgrave.
The crowd was out Friday night to see a whole bunch of cars wrecked in the annual Demolition Derby.
Laura, Jeremy and Peter Kalnay got the chance to hold some five-day-old chicks.
These yong ladies were showing in the 4-H show for the very first time; Kayla Emmerton, Alexa Dacres, Kennedy Cairns and Serenity Mournahan.
Liam Fior, 3, of Bolton was pretty impressed with the model of the Canadian National Exhibition that Ray Bottoms put together.
