The standings tightened somewhat last week in Inglewood Ball Hockey League action.
There are no longer any undefeated teams in the loop, and Ron’s Tire Discounters got rid of the goose egg in their points column.
May 5
Ron’s Tire Discounters 5
Carney Plumbing 1
The short-handed Carney crew stayed in the game as long as they could with only one player on the bench, but the young legs of Ron’s Tire were able to wear them out and gain their first win.
Lamp lighting for the Tire guys were Anthony Mellace with two, Josh Rowland, Tony Sousa and Joshua D’Eri, helpers were from the sticks of Paul Zilstra, Jed Franco, Mellace, Dill Hesketh-Binci, Sousa and Jamie MacDonald. Carney’s lone net nabber was Ron Churly from Shawn Lane and Jeff Rumbolt.
George’s Arena Sports 5
Caledon Hills Cycling 1
These two teams seemed to be more interested in taking breaks than playing the game as each team racked up 28 minutes in penalties.
Goal getters for George’s were Matt Scida with a pair, Mike Volpe, Ferdinando Colella and Justin Fiorini, with assists from Volpe, Luigi D’Agostino, Colella, Fiorini and Nick Franseze.
The Caledon Hills Cycling bin bulger was Matt White from Dave Philips and Terry Masters.
