Sister duo Krystina Zoratto and Lyndsi Pasqualino are the masterminds behind The Focus Market, Caledon’s newest specialized market, designed to be inclusive to all.

“There was always a ‘mom and baby’ element [to other markets],” says Zoratto, “so we wanted to include vendors that weren’t just focused on [that]. Whether you’re a grandparent, a sister, a man, a woman, single or divorced, we’ve got something for everyone.”

Organizing some thirty tables and vendors at each themed market at the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness (Highway 50), these usually stay-at-home-moms are also busy keeping on top of what their competition has to offer by attending all other Caledon markets, so they can add that missing element to their own show.

“Our vendors come from all walks of life. They sell clothing, lip balms, custom décor signs, jewellery, skin care products, hats, to name a few,” Zoratto says.

While their last market was in September and incorporated a health, wellness, and beauty theme, their next show on November 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. is all about the holidays.

“We’ll have something for everyone, so hopefully they can get some items off their Christmas lists.”

In addition to being inclusive, The Focus Market also tries to give back to the community by providing a few tables at each event to a charity or registered non-profit at no cost. In September, the Caledon Animal Shelter had a free table, as well as the Vaughan Health Centre, which offered free diabetic screening. At November’s show, the SPCA will again have a table.

Going forward into the New Year, events have been planned for March, June, and the summer, although the themes have yet to be determined.
