Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel hosted their largest fundraiser of the year with the Tim Hortons Bowl for Kids Sake on March 6 at Skyview Lanes.

This year’s goal is to raise $150,000 through five different bowling events across Peel Region from Feb. 24 to May 6 in support of Big Brothers Big Sisters mentoring programs for youth 6-years-old to 17-years-old.

The Caledon event was a huge success raising $22,725, with money still coming in. It was a great afternoon of ‘Neon Brights’ bowling with Mayor Thompson, Town of Caledon Councillors and staff, Town of Caledon Library, Caledon OPP, Caledon Fire, Caledon Enterprise and Boston Mills. Mayor Thompson was awarded top fundraiser for raising over $18,000, Bolton Mills was awarded Best Dressed Team and Caledon OPP and Fire won for Best Team Spirit.

“Big Brothers Big Sisters of Peel thanks the Caledon community for their generous support of Big Brothers Big Sisters through our Tim Hortons Bowl for Kids Sake event.  We are proud to be providing quality mentoring programs to over 2,050 children and youth and there continues to be a growing demand for mentors for youth in Caledon. We encourage everyone to invest in the future of the youth in your community either by volunteering or donating. Together we can ensure that every child has a mentor to help inspire and empower them to reach their full potential,” states Shari Lynn Ladanchuk, President & CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters.
