The Caledon Senior Hockey League’s playoff round-robin may have been close but that was not the case for the championship final.

With Marty Madensky and Greg Frangakis leading the offence, the Jiffy Lube Oilers took the CSHL playoff title with a 7-1 win over Yale Industrial Trucks, the regular-season champions. In the bronze-medal game, Heart Lake Insurance blanked Fines Ford Lincoln 3-0.

The championship night at the Caledon East arena brought a successful season to a close on the ice. The official closeout comes Friday, May 4 with the annual banquet and dance at Glen Eagle Golf Club.
Jiffy Lube 7, Yale 1

Madensky had a career game on the blue line for Jiffy Lube with a goal and four assists. Frangakis was just as hot up front with a goal and three assists. Pete McNamara scored two goals while Gary Hughes, team rep Peter Coghill and Grant Moffat all contributed a goal and an assist. Mike Lo Dico had two helpers and Steve Sanderson had one. Goaltender Vanni DiMarco held off the Yale hordes between the pipes.

Robert Masutti scored the Yale goal on a setup from Tony Dinis and Dan Tasson.

Heart Lake Insurance 3, Fines Ford 0

Mike McNamara had a goal and an assist for Heart Lake. Team rep Ian Kerr and Jamie McDonald scored the other goals. Single assists went to Jamie Hardman, Frank McKay, Howard Wight, Steve Tarasco and team sponsor Chris Spilar. Pat DiFrancesco was a brick wall in goal and earned the shutout.
