Heart Lake’s lead gets stretched a bit

Heart Lake Insurance edged the Grit Bagmen 5-4 to hang on to first place in the Caledon Senior Hockey League.
In the other CSHL games last Monday at Don Sheardown Memorial Arena, the Jiffy Lube Oilers swamped Yale Industrial Trucks 8-3 and Rutherford Global Logistics downed Fines Ford Lincoln 5-2.
Heart Lake 5, Grit 4
Jamie Hardman, team rep Ian Kerr and Mike McNamara all had a goal and two assists to pace Heart Lake.
Steve Tarasco also scored. Single assists went to team sponsor Chris Spilar, Peter Kuchar and Rod Sinclair.
John Pitsadiotis, Carlo Fantin, Robert Ianno and Greg Collins scored for Grit. Tony Curcio bagged two assists while Mike Shore and Randy Frietag had one each.
Jiffy Lube 8, Yale 3
Greg Frangakis wielded the hot stick for Jiffy Lube with three goals and two assists.
Team rep Peter Coghill had a goal and two assists. Mike Lo Dico provided one of each. Gary Hughes, Frank Cirone and Rick Geiger also scored. Marty Madensky, Steve Sanderson, George Armstrong and Clark Chung all had one assist.
Greg Twinney, Bernie Tisdale and Brian Samuel scored for Yale. Steve Smith assisted on all three goals. Romas Krilivicius also had an assist.
Rutherford 5, Fines Ford 2
Ron Sampson scored twice for Rutherford while Bruno Fracassi had a goal and two assists.
Jim Kutchera had one goal and one assist. Garry Hoxey scored the other goal. Team rep Nick Taccogna bagged three helpers with Nick Pistilli adding one.
Dom D’Orazio and Bret Smith scored for Fines Ford. Assists went to Alex Dorosh, Joe Palumbo and Luch Pinarello.
