Bolton man wins $2 million jackpot in Ontario 49 lottery

October 18, 2017   ·   0 Comments

Santo La Rosa of Bolton, a regular Ontario 49 player, found the lucky combination in the Sept. 27 draw.
He came out $2 million ahead.
La Rosa immediately sent a text message to his wife to let her know he won big.
“Her text message back to me read ‘Whoo, whoo!’” he laughed.
“My first thought after winning was ‘freedom,’” the father of three added. “I thought about how I wouldn’t have to worry about bills and that I could help out my kids.”
“I’ve always wanted a classic car so that will be my first purchase,” smiled Santo. “And then I’ll be taking my family off to Italy for a long awaited vacation. This has been a dream for a very long time and now it will become reality!”
The winning ticket was purchased at Tomas Convenience on Queen Street in Bolton.
Ontario 49 is $1 per play and the draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday. Tickets are sold until 10:30 p.m.
