The Albion-Bolton Fairgrounds was definitely not the place for people with tender ears Friday night, but was the place for those who like seeing powerful machines put through their paces. The occasion was the 38th annual Bolton Truck and Tractor Pull, put on by the Albion and Bolton Agricultural Society. Caledon resident Robert Kolb, president of the Society, was pulling the weight down the track in the 8,000-poind modified farm tractor class in a machine called Extreme Impression. The pull was 263.5 feet.

Paul Truax of Angus turned in a pull of 302.87 feet driving this single-engine modified tractor called School’s Out.

Matthew Boyes of Inglewood pulled the sled 279.63 feet in the hot stock 4X4 class.

Susan Simpson of Melancthon did a pull of 290.88 feet in this 1982 Dodge pick-up.

Pete Robinson of Uxbridge pulled the sled 265.27 feet in this four-engine machine. The engines are named Crusty, Grumpy, Meanie and Nasty.

Charles Rivett of Beeton won the 10,500 pound modified farm tractor competition with the John Deere machine with a pull of 311.11 feet.

Elliott Ferringo of Fergus was moving his machine into the hole to compete in the single-engine modified class.

John Adams of Erin was at the wheel of his Ford F-250 doing a full pull in the super stock 4X4 competition.
