The Town of Caledon is offering sympathy and support in light of the massive explosion that leveled a house in Mississauga late Tuesday afternoon and damaged several more.
As of press time, one person has been confirmed dead, and there have been several other injuries. The explosion took place in the area of Dixie Road and Rathburn Road.
Mayor Allan Thompson brought the matter up at the start of Tuesday night’s session of Caledon council, stating he had been in contact with Mississauga Mayor Bonnie Crombie, offering help if required. He said Crombie was appreciative of the offer, and said they would reach out as needed.
“I know there are a lot of injuries,” Thompson commented. “Our thoughts are with Mississauga tonight.”
