A third youth has been charged in connection with Sept. 16 incidents that occurred at Mayfield and Humberview Secondary Schools.
Caledon OPP reports a 17-year-old boy was charged last Thursday (Sept. 24) with being an accessory to robbery.
Two other boys from Caledon, aged 15 and 17, had previously been charged.
Police had previously reported a Mayfield student contacted administration to report he had received a digital photograph of a weapon. They were able to confirm no threat was made, but they added the school, as well as the nearby James Grieve Public School were both in lockdown.
A few minutes after the incident at Mayfield started, police report a robbery took place in a park adjacent to Humberview in Bolton, and one of the two victims was assaulted, receiving minor injuries. Both Humberview and neighbouring James Bolton Public School were in a hold and secure state.
Police later added that while they had initially believed the two incidents were separate, it was determined they were related.
The investigation is now complete, as far as police are concerned.
They have expressed appreciation to students and parents for their support and patience during the occurrence and throughout the investigation.
