A 43-year-old Caledon man is facing several charges after an incident in Bolton Sunday evening.
Caledon OPP reports officers saw a man operating a golf cart on Kingsview Drive shortly after 11:30 p.m. He apparently saw the officers and tried to put the cart in reverse to evade them.
The officers approached the operator on foot and immediately detected a strong odour of alcohol on his breath and noted that he displayed other signs of impairment. The man was arrested for impaired operation and taken in for testing. Through their investigation, officers also learned that the man was disqualified from driving through a court order.
He was charged with driving while his ability was impaired, refusing to provide a breath sample, driving while disqualified and driving while under suspension.
His licence was suspended for 90 days, and the cart was impounded for seven.
