157th Bolton Fall Fair provides weekend of fun and entertainment

The 157th edition of Bolton Fall Fair went ahead as planned over the weekend, with the theme of celebrating 100 years of 4-H. Nicole French, Peel 4-H ambassador, used the occasion to check out a car also marking its 100th anniversary. This 1915 Model T Ford belongs to Roy and Helen Goodfellow.

The Garden Tractor Pull went ahead Sunday morning. Jamie Dicks, 10, of Palgrave, pulled the sled 147 feet.

There was lots of hands-on learning opportunities at the booth run by Elephant Thoughts. Ethan Smercina, 6, of Caledon East, got to hold this butter corn snake, named Buttercup, belonging to Elephant Thoughts.

The Baby Show might have taken a bit out of two-month-old Hatchet Graham of Bolton, but he won a prize for the best smile. Mother Erin’s smile was pretty big too.

New Junior and Senior Fair Ambassadors were crowned at Friday night’s opening ceremonies. Junior Ambassador Caitlyn Kolb welcomed her successor Callie Dowds, a Grade 11 student at Humberview Secondary School. Ashley Harding, a Grade 12 student at Humberview, was crowned by outgoing ambassador Julie French.
