Youth dance to benefitCaledon Hawks Minor HockeyFines Ford Lincoln sponsoring dance at Caledon East Community Complex By ZACHARY ROMAN Local Journalism Initiative Reporter There's a big party coming to Caledon. On November 3, Fines Ford Lincoln is hosting “It's Finally Friday”, a youth dance that is also a fundraiser for Caledon Hawks Minor Hockey. The event runs from 6 to 9 p.m. and is for youth in Grades 5 to 8. It's being held in the banquet room at the Caledon East Community Complex and tickets are $15. Those looking to purchase tickets can do so online at itsfinallyfriday.ca. A list of frequently asked questions is also available on the site. Party Rockers Entertainment is DJing the dance and there will be volunteer adult chaperones from the Caledon Hawks. Carlos Martins, General Manager of Fines Ford Lincoln, and his wife, Katie Fines, Human Resources Manager for Fines Ford Lincoln, said they wanted to provide an opportunity for kids in Caledon to go to a fun dance event. “Grades 5 to 8 is what we are targeting… once they get to high school, there's more social opportunities. But this is an age group that is underserved,” said Martins. Fines said she and Martins wanted to support the Caledon Hawks because they are a Caledon-wide organization with deep roots in the community. Martins said 100 per cent of ticket sales will be going to the Caledon Hawks, and there will be a concession stand with proceeds being donated too. “We're covering all of the costs of the event,” said Martins. “It's a great opportunity for kids to have a fun time, and at the same time, 100 per cent of the funds are going to a worthwhile organization.” Martins and Fines said Party Rockers Entertainment puts on a great party, complete with video screens, a light show, live DJing, and more. There are a limited number of tickets to the dance available, and Fines and Martins encourage anyone interested to buy tickets online to reserve a spot. |
