Caledon OPP reports the spot check was set up on Albion Vaughan Road, east of Regional Road 50. Shortly after midnight, a black 2007 Cadillac Escalade approached, moving erratically. An officer was checking on the sobriety of the driver and detected alcohol on her breath. The woman was told to pull over for further investigation, but she sped off. Police said she was driving in a dangerous manner as she tried to get away, and went to a residence in Bolton. An officer arriving at the scene tried to arrest her, but she resisted. A second officer arrived, and they succeeded in making the arrest. The woman was charged with impaired driving, driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in her system, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, taking flight while being pursued by a peace officer, resisting a peace officer, two counts of failing to comply with the conditions of an undertaking given by an officer in charge, failing to comply with an undertaking and breach of recognizance.
