Title: Watch where flood-relief money going

Ontario Provincial Police are advising people to be
careful when it comes to giving money to charities helping
victims of the recent fl ooding in central Ontario.
A number of communities have declared states of
emergency as a result of the high water levels, and police
report there are some individuals who may be attempting
to fraudulently benefi t from this.
OPP urge anyone wishing to support fundraising initiatives
that may be underway or planned for the future
make sure that they visit the websites of those communities
that have been directly affected. These websites
will assist with identifying how and where donations
can be offi cially directed so that they make it to their
intended destination and not into the wrong hands.
