Town of Caledon recognizes long-serving staff membersBy Bill Rea A lot of hours and effort is put in by municipal staff to serve the residents of Caledon. The Town recently took an evening to thank the efforts and to recognize the staff members who had passed certain milestones. Mayor Allan Thompson commented on how he and the councillors witness first-hand the efforts put in by these “totally dedicated and caring people.” “Tonight, that's what Caledon is about,” he added. “It's about you guys.” The Mayor also pointed out there are exciting times coming to Caledon, especially with the Pan Am Games just a couple of weeks away. He pointed out a number of staff members have volunteered to work on the Games. “I know you're doing it for the love of what's going to happen here,” he said. There were seven staff members recognized for 25 years service: William Frost, Mary Gargaro, Geoff Hebbert, Barb Johnson, Joseph Laird, Bas Nieuwburg and Brian Zimmerman. Those receiving recognition for 20 years were Calvin James, Kathie Kurtz, Dan Mohr, Mojgan Schmalenberg and Lyle Ziobroski. The staffers recognized for 15 years were Suzanne Abramowitz, Lori Allard, Brian Baird, Shauna Caron, Brett Charboneau, Amanda Clarke, Joyce Tuyp, Richard Lloyd, Anthony Staniscia and Sandi Wiles. Those getting recognition for 10 years of service were Barbara Alton, Mark Atkinson, Laurie Groe, Sheila Howlett-Soltysiak, Angie Mitchell, Ken Oks, Sara Peckford, Giovanna Reda, Heather Savage, Nicole Shay, Dan Shiel, Joan Stuckless and Sharon Wilson. Recognized for five years were Ciro Amato, Kant Chawla, Thomas Cluley, Diana Thompson, Franco Marra, Valorie Mathers, Catherine McLean, Donna Rideout, Dawn Rowley, Adam Weiler, Marisa Williams and Fuwing Wong. |
