On December 2nd, Caledon community members eagerly gathered outside Town Hall to watch the beginning of the Christmas season unfold, as the tree was lit for the Holiday season.

Those awaiting the lighting were not alone, as Santa and Mrs. Claus held a special story time for the audience before the tree lighting ceremony itself.

Other attendees could be found meandering through the many attractions outside Caledon Town Hall that night.

Attendees could enjoy a giant snow globe or the warming station inside, which featured crafts for kids.

On site were Caledon OPP and Caledon Fire and Emergency Services, where residents were spotted having their photo taken with Sparky the Fire Dog.

For those confident about their place on the nice list this year, a mailing station was available at Town Hall to send your letters to the North Pole.

“The days are much shorter, less light to do chores—one last chance to gather before moving indoors. December is here, and so is the snow. It's just 23 days until Christmas, you know,” Caledon's Town Crier rang out as the Caledon community gathered closer, awaiting the tree lighting.

“This is such a special time of year,” added Mayor Annette Groves, as she invited the community to celebrate together this season.

When she asked the children clustered at the front, “What's special about Christmas?”

The answer appeared to be a resounding “Presents!”

The Town Crier led Council and the community in round of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” as the tree was illuminated, and kids of all ages hurriedly lined up for a chance to have their photo taken with Santa.

As the night continued, whether it was parents enjoying the complimentary refreshments or children telling Santa what they want for Christmas, the Caledon Tree Lighting Celebration truly lit up this year's Holiday season.
