Town of Caledon announces new CAO Mike Galloway

Mayor Allan Thompson and Caledon council have announced Mike Galloway will be the Town's next Chief Administrative Officer (CAO).
He is scheduled to take over his new duties next month.
“Mike has a wealth of municipal experience and knowledge; he brings a fresh, forward-thinking leadership style to this role,” Thompson commented. “Council is excited to work with him on advancing Caledon's priorities and setting the stage for the future. I'm confident that he is just what we need and welcome Mike to his new role.”
“I am looking forward to working with Caledon's progressive council and staff,” Galloway said. “The next decade is going to be some of the most important years for the community and its future.”
“I was drawn to this role based on the direction the Town is taking, and I'm looking forward to working with administration to support the Mayor and council,” he added.
Galloway has close to 20 years of leadership experience within municipal organizations in Ontario. He currently serves as CAO for one of Canada's premier destinations, the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, a position he has held since 2010. Under his leadership, Niagara-on-the-Lake has sustained a healthy, vibrant local economy while developing a fiscally responsible public service. Over the past few years, he has also been a key member of the Region of Niagara — Metrolinx/GO Leadership Team that is bringing GO Train service to Niagara.
Galloway is an instructor with the Executive Diploma in Municipal Management program and served 15 years on the board of the Association of Municipalities of Ontario (AMO) in numerous capacities, including Treasurer and Vice-President. He holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree, along with designations as a Certified Municipal Officer (CMO) and Certified Municipal Manager III.
